One of the main novelties on the list for Brazil’s upcoming friendlies against Guinea and Senegal in June was Newcastle midfielder Joelinton. The 26-year-old has made 40 appearances this season, scoring eight goals and providing three assists.
The player was stagnant with his first call: “There are not many words to describe this moment. It is the realization of a lifelong dream to be able to wear the jersey of the Brazilian team”, said the midfielder. In turn, according to Globo, Joelinton affirms that the summons comes after a great season: “It is the result of hard work and a great season with Newcastle,” the player concluded.

Joelinton made his debut at Sport Recife and quickly made his jump to Europe at Hoffenheim, to later be on loan at Rapid Vienna in Austria. Finally, he arrived at his current club in 2019 in exchange for 44 million euros. Although, at first the player was seen as a forward option, upon arrival he was delayed on the field and finding his best version.
In addition to Joelinton, another Newcastle player called up by the Brazilian team was midfielder Bruno Guimarães, who was at the Qatar World Cup in 2022.
