With the 2023 season in full swing, Internacional have given a boost to their squad by landing Enner Valencia. The veteran Ecuadorian striker comes from a fantastic stint with Fenerbahce, having recorded 33 goals in 41 games for the Turkish giants in the 2022-23 campaign.
This will be Valencia’s first experience in the Brasileirão, which will be the fifth country in his career. Previously, he played in Ecuador, Mexico, England and Turkey. The 33-year-old signed a three-year deal, which seems to be a lot for his age, but he definitely has enough left in the tank to shine in Brazil.

Enner Valencia’s fantastic form
Valencia, who will have his official presentation on June 26, has been one of the most prolific goalscorers in Europe recently. Additionally, he had a remarkable performance in the Qatar 2022 World Cup, finding the net three times in as many games.

Internacional hope he can keep up with this great level to help the team get back on its feet. Right now, the Porto Alegre outfit is 10th in the Brazilian Serie A standings, 10 points shy of leaders Botafogo. The outlook is better in the Copa Libertadores, but they have yet to book a place in the knockout stages. If they advance, Valencia’s addition will certainly fuel their continental aspirations.
