Internacional beat Santos by a historic score this Sunday (22). In a game for the 28th round of the Brazilian League, the teams’ duel took place in Beira-Rio Stadium (Porto Alegre) and ended with a 7-1 victory for Colorado. Enner Valencia, twice, Alan Patrick, Wanderson, Fabricio Bustos and Luiz Adriano, as well as Kevyson, against, scored the winning goals for Inter, who reached 35 points in Brasileirão.

Next Thursday (26), Eduardo Coudet’s team will face Vasco, in São Januário, at 7pm (Brasília time). The match will be part of the 29th round of the Brasileirão, and will be followed, on Sunday, by Inter’s clash with Coritiba, in Beira-Rio. Currently, Clube do Povo is 12th in the table and is nine points behind the G-6.

Inter needed 47 seconds to open the scoring at Beira-Rio. After an excellent pivot from Enner Valencia, who trapped Joaquim before making the pass, Wanderson left Lucas Braga “in the dust”, ran towards the baseline and crossed low. Facing his own networks, Kevyson did not know how to direct the cut and putted it on his own net.

Supported by 35 thousand people, Clube do Povo did not slow down after the goal. Absolutely dominant in the duels he fought against the São Paulo defense, Valencia was easily found by an Alan Patrick who was parading on the Gigante lawn. The Ecuadorian had a chance to expand at 12, when he received the ball from number 10, dominated under pressure from Vladimir and shot over, but in an irregular condition.

The fans had no time to mourn. On the way out of the game, Dodô handed possession to Alan Patrick, who showed why he is the best number 10 in the country. In one-on-one with Joaquim, the ace blocked his rival with a beautiful dribble with his right leg and, from the height of the half-moon, finished from cover after noticing Vladimir in advance. With absolutely spectacular contours, Inter led 2-0!

From area to area, the 3-0 play went through Johnny, Wanderson and Mauricio before reaching Valencia. With his left foot, the attacker dominated. With the right, he waited for Vladimir to leave to hit low. Don’t lose count: 3 to 0.

Before the third goal, Rochet had already shone in the face of Rincón’s header. After the goal, the goalkeeper blocked Kevyson’s dangerous shot (in a play that saw the ball hit the post by the São Paulo attacker). With a free kick, Marcos Leonardo also brought relative danger to the Colorado goal. Despite the lack of creativity, therefore, Santos threatened to enjoy the game. Therefore, Clube o Povo returned to the charge.

There was plenty of space on the right side of the Santos defense, and Valencia enjoyed exploiting it. Launched by Mauricio, the striker demanded a miracle from Vladimir at 35. Three minutes later, the center forward left command of the attack and created a space for Wanderson, who was quick to anticipate Lucas Braga, receive it from Aránguiz and place it between the goalkeeper’s legs. For the first half, it was a good size.

Serious to the end

Santos returned with three new features for the final stage. Júnior Caiçara, Nonato and Rodrigo Fernández replaced Kevyson, Lucas Lima and Dodi, reinforcing the marking in the opponent’s midfield. Coudet only changed Johnny, served for Rômulo’s entry. Despite the changes, the script was maintained. And the score? Enlarged.

At four, Bustos was launched by Renê and preferred generosity to goalscoring flair. The full-back’s pass, who was looking for Valencia, was anticipated by the marking. Shortly afterwards, the Argentine had another chance. Served by Mauricio, Fabricio honored his reputation as a scorer of beautiful goals and released the bomb from the edge of the area. Low and crossed, the shot blew up the coastal nets.

Santos’s goal of honor almost came from Marcos Leonardo, who hit the crossbar at 13. Two minutes later, Valencia received it from Alan Patrick and showed how it’s done. From the left, the Ecuadorian cut inside and filled his foot. In addition to his strength, Enner also showed intelligence to counter Vladimir, who touched the ball, but only to get into the picture. There were already six!

Coudet made four changes after the 6-0. First, Pedro and Bruno, the Henriques, were promoted to Valencia and Aránguiz. Afterwards, Carlos de Pena replaced Wanderson. Finally, Luiz Adriano greeted Alan Patrick and took just a few seconds to find the net. Inter’s seventh and final goal was assisted by PH for Luiz, who scored as soon as he stepped into the penalty area.

Maxi Silveira, at 34, scored for the visitors and gave final numbers to the match, which ended punctually in the 45th minute. Before the last whistle, Mauricio, who was playing his 150th match with the red shirt, still had the chance to re-edit the scores of the finals of the Gauchões of 2008 and 2009 and secure the 8-1, but his shot took paint off the post.
