Barça will have to choose between Roque and Gavi in January
Barça’s financial situation remains delicate, particularly with regard to financial fair play. If the club manages to free up payroll, a choice will arise: register Vitor Roque or definitively regularize Gavi’s contractual situation. Both operations would require approximately the same budgetary space.
The recruitment of the young Brazilian striker could wait until the summer if the offensive sector holds up this season. But in the event of injuries or a lack of realism in front of goal, Roque would be prioritized from January to strengthen the attack during the final phase.
In any case, Barça is counting on the 40 million euros still owed by the Libero investment fund. Management is convinced that the sports department will be able to generate liquidity of this magnitude, an essential condition for hoping to register Roque or regularize Gavi’s contract.
