On the rise in Romania, Brazilian Jair Tavares is having an excellent individual season with FC Petrolul. The athlete has scored 7 goals and provided 7 assists. On top of that, the midfielder is having his most active season of his career with 39 games played. The player spoke about the matter.

“Being able to break my own record in a single season shows how much I have prepared and how focused I am on my career day after day. I’m living the best moment since I started playing football and I only want to grow more and more,” he said.

Jair is the second top scorer and biggest assist provider on the team, being one of the players with the most direct goal contributions in the entire league. The team failed to qualify for the title race and now plays in the “play-out” phase, which also guarantees a spot in a European competition.

“It’s a difficult phase. We are trying to keep the team out of the danger zone and at the same time fighting to try to get a spot in the Conference League. Our team is very focused on making this happen and for that we have to focus on one game at a time,” he concluded.
