A clash between Brazilian coaches will be one of the main attractions of the Thai League 1 23/24 (the top division of the Thai Championship) this weekend. Gabriel Magalhães, 40 years old, and Alexandre Gama, 56 years old, will take to the field leading Chiangrai United and Lamphun Warrior, respectively, in the 19th round. The young coach outlined his expectations for the “northern classic” in Thailand.

“Lamphun is a young team that has invested heavily in signings to maintain their position in the top division. They have also invested in the coaching staff by bringing in Alexandre Gama, a multi-champion here in Thailand, to lead the team. It will be a good game to watch, and I hope we come out as winners,” projected Gabriel Magalhães ahead of the Brazilian coaches’ reunion.

Unbeaten in six games in the Thai League 1 since December 16, Magalhães aims to maintain his personal record in pursuit of qualification for the AFC Champions League:

“Our team is performing well in the league. We need to continue what we are doing. I demand a lot of focus from them as we are a younger team that tends to fluctuate at times, but we are on a mission. We are very strong at home and away we always aim to add points as well.”

“The Thai League 1 is a highly competitive championship. We aim to finish among the top three to qualify for the AFC Champions League and win the Thai League Cup title to reward the fans who support us greatly during matches and deserve to have the team in the spotlight,” concluded the coach.

The match between the Brazilian coaches kicks off at 10 a.m. (Brasília time) this Saturday.
