In a great semifinal game, Roma, from defender Ibañez, beat Bayer Leverkusen (1-0) at home this Thursday (11). In Italy, the Brazilian played the full 90 minutes in a very balanced match, and celebrated the feat in front of the fans:
“A very difficult game, against a very strong team and football worthy of a semifinal. We managed to come out with the victory, counting on the support of our fans, and now it’s up to us to maintain that same level to seek a place in the final next week.”

The second leg takes place next week, on May 18th. The team who advance will face Juventus or Sevilla in the decision. The first match between them ended up tied in 1-1.
Ibañez has eleven appearances in the Europa League, ten in the starting line-up. In all, there are 43 appointments for the number 3 shirt in the season, in addition to two games defending the Brazilian National Team (one this year and another in 2022).
At 24, he is one of the pillars of the defense of Roma, fourth less leaked in the Italian. This is Ibañez’s fourth season at the club, his third complete. Last year, he reached the relevant mark of 100 games (totaling 144 now) and recently reached 100 commitments in the Italian Championship (also counting a game for Atalanta). The defender’s team is the current champion of the first edition of the Europa Conference League.
