EAFC 24 was launched last Friday (22) for those who bought the ultimate version of the game, but EA Sports also provided a 10-hour experience for those who have signed EA Play. I’m one of those and I spent the weekend playing a few matches to see if the game has changed a lot or if it was just a name thing.
For those who don’t know, EAFC is the Fifa series rebranded after EA Sports and the entity failed to reach an agreement about the use of the name.

Some changes were made, especially in the visual aspect of the game. It now has different menus, but with a few resemblances to Fifa versions. The in-game experience changed naturally to a more paced game and improved goalkeepers, but the feeling is still the same, no matter if you play Career, Ultimate Team or Friendly matches.
In Ultimate, the engine is quite the same, with difficult matches throughout the world. The main change is now that women players can also be used on the squads. I wasn’t lucky enough to get Marta in this experience, but Sam Kerr was part of my squad on loan for five games and so was Erling Haaland.
Felt good to play with both as the game has created mechanics to equalize physically men and women.
But, in general, it is still quite the same Fifa game that we are used to for a few years. EA didn’t make big changes as they apparently have found the receipt to make it work.
