To the sadness of many Brazilian football lovers, Uruguayan Luis Suárez has anticipated his departure from Grêmio and will not defend Imortal’s colors next season.
After rumors about a possible departure in August and, later, confirmation of staying until the end of this year, Suárez called a press conference to justify everything that has happened in recent months.

In the Uruguayan’s view, the chronic pain in his right knee and the number of matches on the national calendar were the factors that will lead to such a decision.
“I felt physically strong enough to stay for two years, which is what I told the club. However, I had to be sincere and honest in saying that next year I won’t be able to perform, due to the burden of Brazilian football. It was a decision discussed with the club,” commented Suárez.
Apparently, Suárez should join Lionel Messi at Inter Miami, from Major League Soccer.
“A lot can be said, many clubs were mentioned and you have to live with that. I’ll talk to my lawyer to see the possibilities. Before finishing the Brasileirão I didn’t want to know anything. Inter Miami is a possibility,” revealed the player.
