Tite passionately spoke about maintaining the club’s inherent offensive style, underlining that the foremost priority is to cultivate a deep understanding of how to play effectively. In his own words,

“The game is a living mechanism, but it is based on principles. Maintaining possession of the ball, being creative and offensively is in Flamengo’s DNA. The coach has to adapt to the athletes and the team and not the other way around. He needs to play and know play. Even if it’s a lower percentage, be consistent defensively”

Furthermore, he placed significant emphasis on defensive consistency and the efficiency of set pieces.

“Be efficient in set pieces. When you avoid this aspect, you are far from winning. Because it is inevitable at certain times that the opponent will have control. They will control the opponent and not give them a chance to finish. We will try to balance these situations”

Tite firmly believes that these elements are key to success, preventing the team from being caught off guard and ensuring control over their opponents. In his view, this balanced approach will be pivotal in achieving success at Flamengo.

Tite’s debut as Flamengo coach takes place this Thursday (19), in a Brazilian league game in which the Rio de Janeiro team will be a visitor against Cruzeiro, in the city of Belo Horizonte.
