Players who have already requested to leave clubs in Brazil

This measure, of requesting to leave a club, is not new in Brazilian football. Over the years, situations like this have occurred.

Cássio (Corinthians)
Corinthians’ idol became heavily criticized by the fans and the press. Shortly before transferring to Cruzeiro, the goalkeeper said that if he was bothering, he would leave. Days after being relegated to the bench, he was announced by the celestial team.

Thiago Galhardo (Fortaleza)
After the Fortaleza bus suffered attacks from Sport fans, Thiago Galhardo asked to be negotiated to deal with his mental health. The striker went to Goiás.

Dudu (Palmeiras)
Palmeiras idol Dudu asked to leave the club and agreed with Cruzeiro. However, with the criticism received from the fans and other white-and-green idols, the left-winger went back and asked to stay at Palestra Itália.

Orellano (Vasco)
Vasco’s most expensive signing in the SAF era, Orellano asked to leave the club at the beginning of the season. The player cited difficulty in adapting to the club and was therefore loaned to MLS.

Mosquito and Arthur Souza request to leave Corinthians

The information about the lawsuit filed by Gustavo Mosquito was initially disclosed by journalist Pedro Ramiro, from TV Bandeirantes. The striker did not train on Wednesday and will not be listed for the Thursday match against Vitória.

In Mosquito’s case, in addition to the non-payment of FGTS, Corinthians owes three months of image rights to the athlete. This is enough for a unilateral contract termination.

Regarding the young Arthur Sousa, according to GE.com, the non-payment of FGTS has been occurring since the signing of the contract, in November 2020. There would be more than 40 outstanding installments.

Judge Samuel Batista de Sá, from the 39th Labor Court of São Paulo, determined on Wednesday that Corinthians must respond to Arthur Sousa’s case within up to five days.

Formed in Corinthians’ youth categories, Arthur Sousa has five appearances for the first team, with one goal scored. His contract with the club is valid until September of next year.
