Guilherme Arana returns to wearing the Brazil shirt, now called up by the coach Fernando Diniz. This Monday (9), the left-back had his first contact with the coach, whom he had only met as an opponent. Arana returns to the national team just over a year after suffering a serious knee injury, which put an end to his possible dream of playing in the World Cup.
“It’s as if it were the first time, a debut, a new opportunity, a new cycle, a new commission. I’ve been preparing a lot, I haven’t even been playing for three months after my injury. Unfortunately I’m here because of Caio Henrique’s injury, but in football we have to be prepared. I don’t know if I’ll start, but I’m mentally prepared and I hope to take advantage of this opportunity”, he declared.

It is Guilherme Arana’s sixth stint with the Main Team. The athlete was also Olympic champion in 2021. Ahead of the confrontation with Venezuela, Arana highlighted that it is necessary to maintain concentration and seriousness during the match.
“Nowadays we have to respect all opponents. We don’t have to let our guard down, we have to remain serious and the players on the field have to show why they are here”, he stated.
The player also spoke about his versatility on the field and says he is ready to meet the expectations of the coaching staff. “I’ve already played the position inside. We have players with a lot of speed like Vini Jr, who plays this role, so whatever Diniz chooses, I’ve already done both roles, it won’t be new to me”, said the left-back.
