At 44, Zampedri scored after getting the time and space to rome freely in the area taking his side 1-0 up. Just a minute later, Pinares added the second and gave Católica a 2-0 lead going into the first half.
In the second half, The Catholic kept on overwhelming the game and could have just extended in the opening minutes.
Grêmio kept on fizzling in their half and created little moving forward.
