Brazilian defender Gabriel Magalhaes was on the score-sheet but Arsenal still suffered a shock loss to Wolves at the Emirates on Sunday night.
The game started in decent fashion with Wolves on the front foot but there was a scare when David Luiz and Raul Jimenez had a clash of heads that led to the Mexican forward taken off the pitch in just the 10th minute.
Teenager Fabio Silva came on and Wolves remained the sharper side despite the injury. The visitors built on their earlier play and took the lead in the 27th minute after Neto reacted quickest to a loose headed ball that initially hit the woodwork.
The lead didn’t last long and Arsenal made a great response with an equalizer just three minutes after.
Willian connected with fellow Brazilian Gabriel via a pin-point cross and the defender showed great strength to direct the ball home and level matters.
After grabbing the equalizer, the Gunners went back to their usual shaky selves and once again Wolves became the better side in the game.
That pressure saw Wolves take the lead again in the 42nd minute after Daniel Podence went unchallenged from a mazy run through the Arsenal half and fired the ball past Leno after the ball deflected back to him. Wolves went 2-1 up going into first half.
The second half saw Arsenal with more possession of the ball but they lacked any urgency in front of goal and even failed to take a shot on target all through the second period.
The result meant Arsenal suffered their third league loss at home this season and they languish in 14th position in the Premier League.
