Gabriel Magalhães: “I always went to Corinthians games”

Regarding his unconditional love for Corinthians, the Gunners defendeream told how his passion for Timão began and his ambition to one day wear the club’s shirt:

“Since I was little I have always gone to games and until I was 12, before moving to Santa Catarina to play for Avaí, I always went to Corinthians games. It is a club that, God willing, one day I will be able to wear their shirt. Whenever I am in Brazil I try to go to the games because I like it, my family also likes it and my friends are from Corinthians. “I always try to go to the games when I’m there.”

“I had several idols, but Corinthians in 2011 and 2012, which was when we won the (club) World Cup, the Brasileirão and the Libertadores, I think all of those players were perfect on the field.”

Of course, the media in charge of the interview did not miss the opportunity to ask Magalhães about his present in the Brazilian team and about his colleague Gabriel Jesus:

“I am very happy to play with the National Team. We know it’s not a great moment, but we also know the quality we have. I think things will start to happen. We are also learning a lot every year. This generation of young players will be able to bring a lot of joy to Brazilian fans. Now we have to focus on the present, thank God I can wear the national team shirt and I am very happy for this legacy.”

Regarding the criticism of Gabriel Jesus, who assured that “scoring goals was not his strong suit,” the defender was neutral and avoided getting into controversies:

“We know his qualities, he is a great player who is helping us a lot. Here at Arsenal he is in great form and is a very important player for us. I didn’t even see what he said, but we have a lot of confidence in him.”
