A brace from Gabriel Jesus and a goal from Riyad Mahrez ensured Manchester City continued to dominate the Premier League.
The Citizens are now up to 21 consecutive wins across all competitions and also equal their own club record of 28 games unbeaten which they achieved from April to December 2017.
City got the lead early on after an own goal from Leander Dendoncker.
Guardiola’s men continued to dominate possession but failed to capitalize on it.
They were made to pay for that when Coady scored his first Premier League goal for Wolves to level matters just before the hour mark.
City continued in search of another goal but were left frustrated upfront. Just when it seemed like the game would end in a stalemate, Gabriel Jesus fired home from close range to put his side back in the league.
Having also scored in the reverse fixture back in September 2020, the Brazilian forward continues his form against Wolves with five goals in his last four games against the Wanderers.
Riyad Mahrez added another to make it 3-1 for City not long after but there was still one more goal for Jesus on the night.
Into stoppage time, the 23-year-old capitalized on a rebound to score what was his sixth Premier League goal of the season. It was initially ruled out for offside but was reinstated following a VAR check.
Another Brazilian in Ederson was also in action as he featured in goal for City. However, there was no clean sheet for him on this occasion. Not to forget that both Jesus and Ederson are in the running to win the Samba Gold award.
Another brace at Etihad for Jesus means the forward has now been directly involved in 45 goals in 53 starts in all competitions for the club on home turf. That is quite impressive to say the least.
