Gabi Portilho is one of the seven attacking players in the Brazilian National Team for the Paris Olympic Games. At Granja Comary, in Teresópolis (RJ), a place she has been frequenting for more than ten years, she has been training hard for the competition, always attentive to the guidance of coach Arthur Elias.
Because she knows him from Corinthians, they have a closer relationship, but nothing that escapes the other athletes who had not yet worked with the coach.

“Of course, the fact that several of us have already been coached by Arthur at Corinthians makes it easier. But we manage to include the others. In fact, everyone knows him well because of the career he has been building. We always believe in everything he has done to become the coach he is today.”
Portilho shares with her teammates the expectation for the Paris Olympics – Brazil debuts on the 25th, against Nigeria – and does not hide the anxiety to see the ball roll in France.
“It still hasn’t sunk in. Only when we get there. The important thing is that we are preparing very well, our squad is strong and, regardless of how many forwards were called up, we are a team, here everyone is helping each other.”
The player has a long history with the Amarelinha (Brazilian national team) jersey. She has played for the U-17 and U-20 national teams in the World Cups of these categories (2012, U-17, in Azerbaijan; and 2014, U-20, in Canada) and made her debut for the Brazilian senior team in 2022.
