“I am very proud of this silver medal. For us, it feels like gold because we had a great competition, we overcame obstacles and adversities, and we deserve recognition. Gabrielle Jordão Portilho, better known as Gabi Portilho, is a forward who stands out both nationally and internationally. Currently, she is one of the key players for Corinthians. At 29 years old, the player is experiencing one of the most important moments of her career by competing in her first Olympics with the Brazilian National Team and winning a silver medal.

Gabi was born in Brasília and started her football journey in 2011, playing for local clubs like Fut Art and Fluminense-DF. Showing talent from an early age, Portilho quickly caught attention and continued her career in Santa Catarina, where she played for clubs like Olympia, Jaraguá, Joinville, and Muller. Her skill and dedication led her to be a vice-champion in Brazil on two occasions while playing for Kindermann and São José.

Between 2015 and 2017, Gabi had a significant stint in European football, where she played for Madrid CFF in Spain, which contributed to her technical and tactical development. After returning to Brazil, she played again for São José, as well as for Osasco and 3B before arriving at Corinthians in 2020.

At Corinthians, Gabi Portilho found the ideal stage to showcase her full potential. Since her arrival, she has become a key player on the team, contributing to the conquest of several important titles. Wearing the Timão jersey, Gabi won four Brazilian Championship titles, two Libertadores, and three São Paulo Championships, solidifying her position as one of the best forwards in Brazilian women’s football.

Although she made her debut with Brazilian national teams in 2012 at the U-17 World Cup, it was only in 2017 that Gabi had her first opportunity with the Senior National Team in a friendly against Bolivia. Since then, she has accumulated 20 matches and three goals for the National Team.

During the Paris Olympic Games, the number 18 jersey was decisive for Brazil. She scored the goal that secured the National Team’s qualification for the semifinals and also left her mark in the match that took Brazil to the grand final against the United States. Her performance on the field, combining speed, skill, and precision in finishing, was crucial for the silver medal achievement.
