Striker Gabi Nunes does not hide her excitement for being part of the group of players called up by coach Arthur Elias to compete in the Paris Olympics. Spontaneous and confident, she is focused on the team’s daily training in Teresópolis (RJ). She knows that every minute of activity is precious.

“We have to make the most of this moment here at Granja Comary to adjust details and gain cohesion as a team. We are working on various aspects. At the Olympics, each one of us will give our lives in the matches, it’s a change of feeling,” she said.

One of the seven chosen by Arthur for the offensive sector, Gabi says there is a healthy competition among her teammates and that each one has their own characteristics, which only increases the potential of the National Team.

“There are many good girls in the position and Arthur really had to rack his brain to put together this list.”

For Gabi, the most important thing now is to absorb the learning from the training sessions in order to execute it in the matches.

“To make a difference, you need to pay close attention to the details. An Olympics is sometimes made of small movements that can be decisive.”

The striker emphasizes the confidence transmitted to the group by Arthur Elias and the entire coaching staff, and says that this can help in plays with the resource of dribbling and finishing.

“We have to do things at the right time, calmly and confidently, and for that, the group has enough technical quality.”

The player heard from her brother Roberto the promise of a mobilization in the family so that some relatives travel to France to accompany the Olympics closer to her. She loved the idea. “My family has always supported me and followed me since I was little. It’s a dream for them too and I hope they can travel, so we can be closer.”
