The Brazilian Women’s National Team has already started preparing for the three friendlies against Japan and Nicaragua. This Monday (27), the athletes began to perform and had their first training session. Gabi Nunes and Luana projected the match against the Japanese and talked about playing on Brazilian soil again.
“Brazil is a very special place for us. We have the fans, we have our family in the stands and, for me particularly, the Neo Química Arena is a very special place”, said Gabi Nunes.
Regarding the first friendly match of this FIFA Date, the striker spoke about the duel against Japan, reinforcing the quality of the opponents, but highlighting Brazil’s potential.
“We know it will be a very difficult game, Japan is a very good team, so we have to take advantage of these moments of training together to have a great game on Thursday. We know the quality that the Japanese women have, but we also know our quality, how much we are growing as a team, as a national team.”

Luana believes that having some more experienced players and some younger players will add value to this friendly.
“We have a good mix of youth and experience and this is a very important factor that we have to explore. Japan has a very fast attack, the Japanese have a very good connection between them. So we will have to be very compact to not make them comfortable in the game. We need to look for our strength, which is the counterattack with our fast players, and a little physical strength.”
The Brazilian team continues training until Wednesday (29), one day before the first match against Japan, when Brazil takes the field, on Thursday (30), at 3:15 pm, Neo Química Arena. Afterwards, they will face Japan once again, on Sunday (3), at 11am, at Morumbi. Finally, they will play Nicaragua on December 6th, at 6pm, at Fonte Luminosa.
