A tempting offer
Al Shabab have presented Willian with a tempting offer: a one-year contract with a weekly salary of over £200,000, which would nearly double his current earnings. The Saudi club hopes to attract Brazilian talent to its ranks to strengthen its workforce for future competitions.
Although Willian already signed his contract extension with Fulham last month, Al Shabab will likely have to shell out a transfer fee to secure the midfielder’s services. However, at present Fulham say they have not received any official offers for the player, leaving doubts over what happens next.
Before finalizing his contract with Fulham, Willian had even visited Nottingham Forest’s facilities, showing serious interest in the club’s offer. Finally, the player expressed his satisfaction to extend the adventure with Fulham by declaring: “I am totally happy. Happy to sign one more year with Fulham. Happy to continue the work I did last season with all my teammates.”
There is still some uncertainty over Willian’s future as he will now have to weigh the pros and cons to decide whether he stays loyal to Fulham or embarks on a new adventure in Saudi football with Al Shabab.
