Right at the beginning of the interview, the number 10 justified his choice to defend Esquadrão in the next two years.

“They presented an ambitious project, of enormous greatness. It motivates me. I needed this, new challenges, in order to seek titles again, make history. And everything that Bahia presented to me, with everyone I talked to, everything is being fulfilled. They said the fans would be waiting for me, and it surprised me. Today, Sunday, with a warm reception. This gives me more enthusiasm and eagerness to be on the field. The expectation is very good. I believe a lot in this team, in my teammates. The team is strengthening. More players will arrive so that we have an incredible year.”

The presence of coach Rogério Ceni in charge of the team, with whom he won the Brazilian Championship with Flamengo, was another factor that motivated the midfielder’s arrival.

“Talking about Rogério is easy. We were champions together. He is a winner. He has been a winning player. He seeks excellence, the best from the player. He demands what needs to be done, also guides and praises. When he called me, he is someone I admire, every conversation he had with me, where I could play, how the team could be.”

Bahia will travel to Manchester this week to continue practicing for the new season.
