Now a TV pundit for Brazilian Globo, former Flamengo and Atlético Madrid player Diego Ribas has given his opinion regarding the choice of the Brazilian National Team coach.

Fernando Diniz is under contract until next year, where supposedly — and on CBF’s president Ednaldo Rodrigues words — Carlo Ancelotti will be officially introduced as the new manager of Canarinha. The Italian, however, would need to not renew his bond with Real Madrid in order for it to happen.

“Diniz is an excellent coach, an excellent professional. I would not insist on staying in the national team and in Fluminense, I would make the decision to remain exclusively for the Brazilian national team. I think it has to be something definitive, with total commitment. Diniz is a guy who gives himself a lot, that’s what I know from behind the scenes. Delivering on two fronts will really demand too much,” Diego analyzed.

“Ancelotti is just a possibility, that’s why I don’t consider it and even that’s why I would make the final decision. When it comes to the Brazilian team, the magnitude of the project, the decision has to be final on who will be the coach. I disregard the Ancelotti possibility now because from what I see it is just speculation and speculation leads nowhere.”

Diniz is already training with the Brazilian National Team at Belém, where they will face Bolivia for the first match of the South American Qualifiers. Brazil and Bolivia will face each other on Friday (8th), at 9:45 pm local time, in Mangueirão Stadium.
