The 4-1 victory on Friday (28) by the Brazilian National Team against Paraguay, in the second round of the Copa América, had a special taste for Vini Jr and Savinho. Known for their ability to create plays and finish, the forwards were constantly trying to find the back of the net, an objective achieved with distinction at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada (USA).
The winger from Real Madrid, Spain, had not scored for the Seleção since June 17, 2023, when he converted a penalty kick against Guinea. Against the Paraguayans, the number 7 jersey not only ended his drought, but also scored two goals in a single match for Brazil for the first time. After 32 games, he has now reached a total of five goals.

“I always say I never play for myself, but for the team, for Brazil, for my country. I always try to do the best things, not always possible. Today I had a great match, at the level of the player I am, I know I can improve a lot to help the Seleção, this team that wants to put Brazil in the place it deserves,” stated Vini Jr.
Vini opened his goal-scoring account for the Seleção in the match against Chile at the Maracanã, in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. He then scored the opener against South Korea, while playing for Grêmio. The third and last goal was scored against the Guinea national team.
As for Savinho, he can still be considered a newcomer to the Brazilian main team. His playing time exceeds just over 180 minutes (two games), but his impact on the pitch was enough to earn him a starting spot against Paraguay. After Vini had done his part, the Brazil number 20 took advantage of a rebound from a Rodrygo shot and fired into an empty net to celebrate his first goal for the Brazilian National Team.
“I can’t even believe this moment I’m living with the Seleção. Very happy with the result, with the victory. That’s the most important thing. But of course, also very happy to have scored my first goal for the Seleção. We are on the right path to advance in this Copa América and fill the fans with joy,” said Savinho, who also spoke about the pleasure of playing alongside Vini Jr. “He is the best in the world today.”
The Girona, Spain striker came on in the second half of the match against Costa Rica and was one of the highlights of the team led by Dorival Junior. His performance was rewarded with a starting spot and a goal. This was just the fifth of many games with the Brazilian National Team.
Exponents of the Brazilian National Team, Vini Jr. and Savinho will have the chance to maintain their good form next Tuesday (2), in the match that closes the group stage of the Copa América against Colombia, at 10pm, at the Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California (USA).
