One of the giants of English football, Liverpool are facing a double challenge this summer following the departures of Fabinho and Jordan Henderson. The Reds have made it clear that they need to strengthen their defensive midfield, and one name that is catching the attention of scouts is that of André Trindade, the young Fluminense midfielder.

Fabinho’s move to Al-Ittihad for an estimated £40m has left a huge void in Liverpool’s midfield. Moreover, with iconic veteran Jordan Henderson also leaving the club, the urgency for the Reds to fill those departures has become a top priority.

This is how André Trindade, aged just 22, appears to be an attractive option for the Premier League giants. The young Brazilian made his national team debut last summer, which has caught the attention of Liverpool scouts for over a year now.

20 or 25 million?

The latest information from the South American country reports the intervention of agent Jorge Mendes in this case. The latter, who is known for representing big-name players such as Darwin Núñez and Diogo Jota, also has a strong working relationship with Liverpool.

According to UOL sources, Carlos Leite, the personal agent of André Trindade, has called on Jorge Mendes to act as an intermediary and facilitate a possible transfer of the young prodigy to the Premier League. Fluminense, meanwhile, are unlikely to be insensitive to offers and could, according to the same source, ask for between £20m and £25m to release their nugget.

However, no final decision has yet been made, and Liverpool may explore other options before embarking on serious negotiation.
