The start of the game was intense in Bragança. In the first attack of the game, series of shots were taken. Matheus Jesus tried a shot from outside the area, saved by the goalkeeper. Then Muriel and Alerrandro had a share of the rebounds which eventually opened the scoring for Braga.
Fluminense had an immediate response. Right after the goal kick, Micheal Araujo eased past Evanilson and found Nene who made no mistake and fired the ball home. It leveled the scoring to 1-1. After pressure from the São Paulo team, the game’s intensity then dropped.
Gradually, Massa Bruta began to get control the game. With a beautiful display of attacking football.
Braga pressed and nearly came close to opening the scoring.
Although, the tricolor barely dominated the ball for a long period. Braga had the majority of the game possession. The Paulistas were unable to capitalize to take the lead in the first half.
In the second half, Muriel continued to work efficiently, Alerrandro met Edmar’s cross but the tricolor goal stopper made a worldie save to deny a goal.
The second half was not so intense but there was lots of action. Bragantino tried to apply more pressure for a victory while Flu sat back looking for a quick break. In the 37th minute of the second period, Luiz Phelipe received a pass from Tubarão at the edge of the goal area, which he took a beautiful and precise shot to beat Muriel to their second and and the game winner.
With the result, Braga are up to five points and leaps ahead of the tricolor with four points, who goes to the bottom of the table. Bragantino will take on Coritiba next on Sunday while Fluminense face Atheltico-PR on Saturday in search of victory.
