In a post-match press conference, Diniz addressed the issue. “Hearing calls for my dismissal is tough, but I respect the fans’ right to their opinions,” he stated. He pointed to games like the one against Atlético-MG where Fluminense led 2-0 and could have scored a third but ended up drawing. “In many games, our performance deserved a win,” he explained.

Diniz also noted the influence of outcomes on public opinion. “Winning changes everything,” he said, suggesting that victories could shift the current negative views. “There’s much we can improve,” he added, emphasizing the potential for growth despite the pressure.

With Fluminense at the bottom of the table, Diniz described his feelings as “horrible” but stressed resilience and hard work as the way forward.

The team’s upcoming Brasileirão matches are against Flamengo (23), Vitória (27), and Grêmio (30). These games are crucial for Fluminense to start climbing out of the relegation zone.
