Flamengo defeated Bolívar 2-0 in the first leg of the CONMEBOL Libertadores Round of 16 in front of a packed Maracanã. Over 60,000 fans filled the iconic stadium to cheer on the Carioca side, which has become accustomed to playing in a full house.
While this latest match set the record for the largest attendance in Brazil in 2024, Flamengo have consistently drawn impressive crowds at home. Thursday’s match (August 15) saw 60,536 spectators supporting Tite’s squad.
The previous attendance record for 2024 was also set by Flamengo, with 60,490 fans attending their victory over Nova Iguaçu in the Campeonato Carioca.
