Flamengo have activated the purchase rights to sign Pedro on a permanent deal and have tied down the forward until 2025 at the very least.
The 23-year-old joined Flamengo on loan from Fiorentina back in January and has impressed ever since.
Pedro is Flamengo’s top scorer this year and has 20 goals in 29 appearances so far. Going by his impressive performances, it was only logical that Flamengo would move to sign the forward permanently.
To sign him permanently, Fla will cough out 14 million euros (about R $ 87 million) to be paid in six equal instalments, starting in 2021.
Speaking after signing the contract, Pedro said he was delighted to be staying put at Flamengo.
“I want to thank the president, Braz, Spindel, my businessmen, who led this negotiation for me to stay here. I am very happy and motivated to be able to stay permanently at Flamengo until 2025. From the first moment, I wanted to stay. This could be resolved. I’m motivated to continue my dream, which is to play for Flamengo”

Flamengo have shown an interest in Pedro for over a while and they finally got their chance. Last June, Fla made an offer to the striker’s club at the time, Fluminense. However, Fluminense were not interested in selling to a direct rival and eventually sold him to Fiorentina. Flamengo kept on their interest and were able to get Pedro through Fiorentina and they now have him tied down to a new contract.
Pedro will be hoping his goals can fire Flamengo to the Brazilian Championship this term.
