However, social networks are sometimes seen as a parameter of the popularity of each club. In fact, the CIES Football Observatory carried out a study in which it pointed out the teams with the most followers through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok.

Flamengo, the non-European team with the most followers on networks
According to the study, Real Madrid accumulates more followers than any other club, with 363 million fans counting the four aforementioned platforms. Barcelona follows with 342 million users, while Manchester United completes the podium with 206 million Internet users.
Just in position 14 is the first team outside of Europe, which is Flamengo, with 49.7 million followers. Mengão, whose image in the social community is that of being the most popular club in Brazil, is ahead of teams like Atlético Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.
Another Brazilian team that appears in the ranking is Corinthians, which is ranked 20th with 31.5 million fans. Further down, São Paulo is 32nd with 18 million and Palmeiras 36th with 15.6 million. The other representatives of Brazil in the top 50 are Santos (42nd), Vasco da Gama (43rd), Grêmio (46th) and Atlético-MG (48th).
