After the two consecutive defeats suffered in the Brazilian Championship (4-1 against São Paulo and 4-0 against Atlético-MG), Flamengo made the decision this Monday to dismiss coach Domènec TorrentMauricio Souzawho currently leads the U-20 team will lead the club as manger on an interim basis as confirmed by the club.

The decision was made the day after another rout suffered in the Brasileirão.

In Mineirão, Flamengo had the chance to take the lead in the championship but conceded two goals in seven minutes of the game and lost 4-0 to Atlético-MG. An own goal from Gustavo Henrique then goals from KenoSasha and Zaracho condemned Fla to yet another humiliating defeat.

Dome was announced by Flamengo in late July as a replacement for Jorge Jesus who left the club for Benfica. Since then, he has overseen 24 games with 14 wins, four draws and six losses which amounts to a win percentage of 63.8%. Under the command of the former Guardiola assistant, the red-blacks scored 42 goals and conceded 36.

Flamengo are currently in third place in the Brasileirão with 35 points and has the same points with Atlético-MG and one less than Internacional who lead the pile. In a time where the top teams in the Brasileirão have faltered except São Paulo, Flamengo missed a golden chance to get the better of their rivals.

Flamengo are in the quarterfinals of the Copa do Brasil and will face São Paulo in their quest for silverware. They are also in the round of 16 of the Libertadores where they take on Racing.
