The Brazilian team was beaten by Iran 3-2 this Saturday (11), at the Jakarta International Stadium, in the debut of the U-17 World Cup. The team took a 2-0 lead in the first half, but suffered a comeback in the final stage, in a match marked by the protagonism of Iranian goalkeeper Shakouri.
In the other game in the group, England thrashed New Caledonia 10-0.

The game
Played on the right wing, Rayan advanced quickly and finished. The ball went close to the post, in a great scoring chance for Brazil, after just five minutes.
At ten minutes, Souza crossed into the area, but goalkeeper Shakouri cleared it away. Sidney finished from outside the area, bringing danger to his opponents. It was the number 18’s first match with the Brazilian National Team.
With confidence, Da Mata took a risk from distance and scared the Iranian goalkeeper in the 14th minute. About ten minutes later, the defender kicked again and this time demanded a save from the goalkeeper, who threw it to the baseline.
After the corner, Dudu crossed for Rayan’s header. The ball was between the goalkeeper’s legs and almost missed it.
In the 28th minute, Brazil opened the scoring in a move that featured collective work and individual talent. Lucas Camilo took the corner kick out of the area. The ball went towards Lorran, who made the screen for Rayan to finish from outside the area and hit the angle. It was the 200th goal for the Brazilian team in the U17 World Cup.
Lorran, at 39, had freedom at the edge of the area and shot for another great goal chance for Brazil and another good save from Shakouri.
At 46, Brazil scored again. Rayan advanced along the baseline and passed it to Lorran, who tried to return it. The pass came out a little stronger, but Rayan shared it with Zamani, who was coming at speed and scored an own goal.
In the 9th minute of the second half, the Brazilian defense was unable to clear the play, and Barajeh reduced it for Iran. The shot was deflected before beating Phillipe Gabriel.
In the 23rd minute, Shakouri passed the ball back to Tahere to tie the match. In a new counterattack in the 28th minute, Gholizadeh put Iran ahead in the game.
On his debut for the Brazilian team, Luighi almost equalized with a header in the 35th minute. Two minutes in, Luighi received a pass from Sidney and forced another save from Shakouri.
The Iranian goalkeeper stood out again when he prevented Brazil from equalizing with a header from Luighi.
Brazil tried to reverse the result, but was unable to overcome Iran’s defense. Final score: Brazil 2 x 3 Iran.

The Brazilian team returns to the field for the U17 World Cup next Tuesday (14) against New Caledonia, at 6 am (Brasília time), at the International Stadium in Jakarta, Indonesia. With the result, Brazil occupies third place in Group C. They qualify for the knockout stage as leader and vice-leader of each group, in addition to the four best third-placed teams.
