The teams had a rather intense first half, however, returned better in the second half when the Lion’s scored their goal. Fortaleza now has 15 points, at the top of the table. Colorado remain on 20 points and lose their spot at the top of the standings. For Inter, it also means they have now lost their last two consecutive games.

Felipe had the first great opportunity to score in the early stage after 18 minutes,

taking his shot from outside the box, to the side of the goalkeeper but failed to find the net. Fernández advanced beyond Paulão and kicked Felipe Alves’ goal in the 23rd minutes.

Internacional also made change in the first half early on, since Patrick also felt pain and gave way for Nonato to grace the pitch.

Juninho found space and tipped Marlon who is opened in the goal area in opponent territory, yet he headed out. The first half of the game was dry of chances created and converted.

Inter looked to be getting into the game but they were stunned just soon enough.

Felipe tried his luck with a shot and put Fortaleza in the lead in the 66th minute. Five minutes from time in the second half, following a free kick, Carlinhos crossed the ball to Tiago Orobó, who got to the rear of the net. However, an offside was given.

Internacional faces Grêmio on Wednesday in the Libertadores Cup. In the Serie A, they face São Paulo, in Beira-Rio. Fortaleza faces Santos on Sunday in Vila Belmiro.
