Despite the interest of the world’s biggest clubs in securing the services of Girona’s sensation player, Savinho, everything indicates that the Brazilian’s future lies in staying with the City Football Group.

Since the beginning of the season and Savinho started to display his best version in the colors of Girona, the Brazilian began to be approached by Premier League clubs and some LaLiga clubs like FC Barcelona.

However, considering that Girona, Troyes, the club that owns his contract, and Manchester City belong to the same investment group, the top favorite to secure his services has always been the team led by Pep Guardiola.

In early February, renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano stated that Manchester City had already reached an agreement with Girona to sign Savinho, and recently this same source confirmed that the deal is just one signature away from being finalized.

Savinho, one signature away from being a Manchester City player

The versatile 19-year-old forward has already accumulated seven goals and seven assists (14 G/A) in 28 matches across all competitions, numbers that have sparked the interest of Pep Guardiola. According to Spanish media reports, in December Guardiola had already decided that Savio would be a luxury reinforcement for his Manchester City.

The negotiations between all parties involved were concluded for an undisclosed amount, and Fabrizio Romano assures that the clubs have already prepared the respective paperwork to finalize his signing for the Sky Blue team.

The deal only needs the signature of Savinho and the clubs to be closed definitively, so the player born in 2004 can almost be considered a new Manchester City player for the 2024/2025 season.

Savio will stay at Girona until the end of the season to try to achieve a historic feat by competing for the title or aiming to qualify for a major European competition. Once his contract is signed, he will travel to Manchester to be part of Pep Guardiola’s elite squad.
