After missing the first two matches of the season, Endrick finally made his debut wearing the Real Madrid jersey, and he did it in the sweetest way possible: by scoring a goal in his new stadium. Endrick had already scored at the Santiago Bernabéu in a friendly against Spain earlier this year, serving as an introduction to his new fans.

Very excited about scoring his first goal with Real Madrid, and one that is historic for various reasons, Endrick spoke to the microphones of Real Madrid TV, where he touched on various topics related to his current moment, the joy of having scored, and the criticism that he and his family have received: “Living this moment is wonderful.”

Endrick’s struggles and those close to him: “People criticized me and my family too, my girlfriend”

Nervous and emotional, Endrick preferred to give the interview in Portuguese despite showing that he has a good command of Spanish:

“I am very happy; it’s a dream coming true. I had played here at the Bernabéu with the national team, I was able to score, but it wasn’t with Real Madrid. Today was my debut with Real Madrid, and I am speechless. I can only thank God for everything that is happening to me. I always tried to win for the people of Brazil, but now also for the people of Spain, and I always want to put on a show for them so they can enjoy it.”

However, Endrick also remembered the criticism that both he and his family have faced and expressed relief at being able to silence it on the field:

“I think we are all happy; we played here with our families watching us. We won 3-0 with my family here, and they know how much I have worked and suffered. They have also suffered; people criticized me and my family too, my girlfriend as well. We have all been through a lot, and living this moment is wonderful.”

With his goal, Endrick not only opened the scoring in his short but intense career at Real Madrid but also became the youngest scorer in Real Madrid’s history in La Liga and one of the youngest South Americans to score in the competition’s history.

With hard work and humility, Endrick silences the critics with his football.
