Ederson, born in Osasco, began his career in football in São Paulo’s youth teams. The goalkeeper completed his training at Benfica, in Portugal, where he arrived in 2009 at the age of 15.
The Brazilian was signed from Benfica by Manchester City in 2017, in a transfer worth 40 million euros – a value that, at the time, was the second highest amount paid for a goalkeeper in the history of football, behind only Gianluigi Buffon.
At the English club, Ederson won the Premier League five times, a Champions League and a FIFA Club World Cup, among other titles.
The goalkeeper has also been called up repeatedly to the Brazilian National Team since 2016 and played in the 2018 and 2022 World Cups. With Brazil, he was champion of the 2019 Copa América.
