Midfielder Éderson is the debutant of the Brazilian National Team at the Copa América. After making history at Fortaleza by participating in the campaign that qualified the team for the Libertadores in 2021, the player ended the season with the Europa League title for Atalanta. It was the Italian club’s first international trophy.
Now, the 24-year-old midfielder wants to show his work with the National Team as well. “Just being here is a dream come true. I worked very hard to make it to the Seleção,” said the player, born in Mato Grosso do Sul. “I want to be able to participate and make history by winning the Copa América,” he added.

At Atalanta, he was the leader in tackles and balls recovered this season. Éderson has been praised by European newspapers in recent months. The Spanish newspaper “As” wrote that the “Brazilian combines consistency from the start of the season with a privileged physique that allows him to cover many meters at high intensity throughout the 90 minutes”. According to the daily, Éderson is “a committed player, who does not shine with the ball, but serves as that necessary glue in a block willing to fight for titles”.
In the interview with CBF TV, he said he is a fan of Casemiro. “He has an enormous, incredible career, a great player. I often look up to him. It’s very difficult to build a career like he has. Casemiro certainly has something special,” he added.
