Many injured and dead
The tremor was the strongest recorded in the country in 25 years, leaving a trail of destruction.
According to local authorities, the disaster has already claimed the lives of 10 people and left 900 others injured, highlighting the severity of the situation and the urgent need for assistance to the victims.
Luan said that despite the great scare, he and his wife’s family are doing well, emphasizing that, fortunately, they were prepared for this type of situation, following safety recommendations and remaining calm during the event.
Aware of what could happen
Asked about his feelings regarding Taiwan and his experience in the country, the 26-year-old Luan highlighted that he considers Taiwan a good place to live.
He mentioned that he had received proper training to deal with seismic events, revealing that he was already aware of the measures to be taken in case of an earthquake.
“I was afraid, I confess, I felt like the world was going to collapse, everything was shaking, the furniture in the house was falling, people were screaming. We cannot normalize an earthquake, even with all the training we receive to be prepared when it comes, we are always taken by surprise. Now, it’s about continuing to follow the recommendations, and everything will be fine.”
Focus
Additionally, the player shared that he is maintaining his normal routine, including preparing to join a new club, the name of which was not specified at the time.
“After the episode, I’ve already left home, I can’t stop, I’ve already trained and everything. I have to stay focused, I’m preparing to go to a new club, so I’m following the same routine,” he said.
Diet
Regarding his daily activities and adaptation to life in Taiwan, Luan mentioned in a lighthearted manner his experience in the kitchen and the support of his family.
“When I lived alone, I did everything, but now that I live with my wife’s family, we manage together.”
Will you return to Brazil?
Regarding his professional future, Luan revealed that he has received offers from Brazilian clubs but preferred not to disclose details, leaving the negotiations in the hands of his agent, Marcos Augusto.
“At the beginning of this year, I was in Brazil on vacation with my family, I received some offers, which I cannot reveal now, but I can say that this negotiation part is with my agent, Marcos.”
And the Brazilian National Team?
When asked about his impressions of the Brazilian National Team, Luan highlighted the new cycle under the command of coach Dorival, praising the team’s renewal and the opportunity given to young talents.
He expressed optimism about the team’s future, emphasizing that there is still room for improvement, but the first impression was positive.

Luan Anderson has been with Tainan City since March 2022, where he won two consecutive national titles (2022 and 2023).
With 27 matches played and five goals scored for the club, the Brazilian player has solidified his presence in the Taiwanese football scene since arriving in the country in 2017 to study, eventually standing out in the university championship and attracting the interest of local teams.
