This weekend, he scored twice in Aston Villa’s emphatic 4-1 win over West Ham. In doing so, he became the club’s first player to score goals in six consecutive home matches in the Premier League. An exceptional performance for a player in his position.

A dream of returning to the selection
The Brazilian midfielder, who has not worn the colors of the Seleção since October 2021, maintains the ardent ambition of making his return to the national team.
After this new feat, he expressed his desire to represent Brazil again. “ I am experiencing a moment of great accomplishment with my club, my teammates and my family. Everyone contributed a lot to my performance being at its current level ,” Douglas said.
“ I have worked a lot on and off the field to achieve the objectives of the season, and returning to defend the colors of the Brazilian national team is one of my priority objectives. I hope that, in due time, all the sacrifices will be rewarded ,” he added.
