When asked about the starter in place of the Real Madrid striker, he answered with just one word: “Endrick”. Dorival then explained his choice.

“We lost an important player, but we gained a player who is emerging, seeking an opportunity. Maybe this is the moment for Endrick,” said the coach.

Brazil faces Uruguay on Saturday, starting at 10pm (Brasilia time). Grupo Globo will broadcast the match on various platforms. The classic marks the beginning of the knockout stage in the Copa América. Another change in the team will be the entry of Arana in place of Wendell.

Dorival explained how he plans to use Endrick in the Las Vegas match. “I think Endrick is not specifically a nine, who plays fixed, he prefers a pivot. He is a player who floats, moves around. Really, in my last teams I always had a center forward of origin, but I have to respect the characteristics of the players we called up,” said the national team coach.

“And we called them up with awareness of each one’s moment, of the characteristics. Everything will happen calmly. That’s why I said, not to rush in relation to Endrick. At the right moment, there would be the possibility. The team evolves at every moment. It’s just a matter of time to find the best formation,” he added.

Dorival analyzed the classic this Saturday and said he has “no doubt it will be a great game”. “It’s a great South American classic. An important game for Brazil and Uruguay. It’s a team that deserves all respect, it’s in a process of evolution, just like Brazil, which has been finding its way. I have no doubt that Uruguay will have problems against our team. These are teams that know each other, respect each other, and we will have everything to have a great match,” said the coach.
