For this Thursday’s game (16), against Colombia, in Barranquilla, in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, coach Fernando Diniz states that the Brazilian team will have to overcome some adversity. He cited three of them.
“Playing in Barranquilla is always difficult: we will face a lot of heat, massive support from the fans and, in addition, the strength of Colombian football, which has a very good team”, he said, during a press conference this Wednesday, at Granja Comary, in Teresópolis (RJ), shortly before the delegation embarked.

Diniz, however, stated that his team is prepared to deal with these obstacles. Very elegant, he praised this Thursday’s opponent, highlighting that the Colombia team has been gaining international prestige every year.
“Colombia has a team that has gained a lot of prominence on the world stage in the last 20, 30 years, and has become one of the toughest rivals in South America. It is very well trained and has scored well in the qualifiers. He plays with a lot of competitiveness.”
In just under 30 minutes of conversation with journalists at the CBF training center, Fernando Diniz had to answer several questions about the presence of young striker Endrick in the Seleção. The coach spoke about the player’s potential and argued that Endrick’s maturation process should be carried out smoothly.
“He is a very special player, what he has produced at the age of 17 already leaves room for a bright future. We need to lower our expectations a little bit. Let him not feel pressured. The best thing to do now is to reassure Endrick so he doesn’t feel overwhelmed. We have to take this load off him and make him more emotionally robust to face the challenges of his career.”
