On Monday, the day he arrived at Granja Comary in Teresópolis, Diego Carlos gave a press conference and took the opportunity to introduce himself and highlight some of his characteristics.
“I am a defender who likes a duel, my main point is the concentration inside the match, I do not let it fall.”
“I keep my focus against opponents. My focus is that my team always wins and I can do my best in the matches”, he said.
Diego Carlos went through the base categories of São Paulo and was promoted to the main team but left the club because he thought he would have no chance. After short stints in Madureira and Paulista de Jundiaí, he went to play in Portugal.
“In Brazil, I didn’t get to act, my career started in Europe in Estoril and Porto B, and, thank God, I had a career that, until now, has been brilliant for me, I’m going up more and more. I had a good time in France (for Nantes) and now I am living a beautiful time in Spain.”
In addition to Diego Carlos, another rookie in the Brazilian team will be striker Pedro. However, the Flamengo player had already been called up once but ended up missing out by injury.
“I am very happy with my call, very happy to be here in the Brazilian team. A child’s dream being realized. A great opportunity and I hope to do my best to help and be together with this fantastic group that I was very well received” concluded Diego Carlos.
