They are part of the new generation of the Brazilian National Team: Camila, Antonia, Bruninha, Lauren, Duda, Kerolin, Adriana, Ana Vitória, Ary Borges, Nycole and Gabi Nunes. All have strong achievements such as state and national championships, Libertadores and Copa America. But World Cup? It will be the first for them and this experience awakens many emotions.

For Kerolin, everyone’s feeling is very anxious. “The anxiety is to get rid of the weight of the first game, to feel the competition, although we have done a good preparation for it, but it is very different to play.”

Being in the same group as remnants of other World Cups also brings another feeling. “This balance gives us a lot of confidence. It combines youth and experience. I think it’s getting on the field and doing what we’re training for. If you really put that will, that determination and that feeling on the field, things will happen,” says Kerolin

Behind the scenes, the athletes vary their routine to keep the group calm and keep the atmosphere as light as possible, as revealed by Ary Borges. “There are many girls who are in the first Cup. So, we try not to talk about football, play video games, the hotel has some activities for us to do and calm our minds. But in fact, the group is fundamental because it is one transferring tranquility and psychological support to the other,” she says.

Present in all editions of the World Cup and close to its ninth participation, Brazil is looking for its first star. For the rookies, a challenge that they will face with a lot of courage and willingness.

“We have managed to absorb the experience of the others and their teachings well, we are doing very well in training, in the work that Pia does, we have been able to understand the moments of the game well. And we bring an energy and impetus that I’m sure adds to it,” she explains.
