From the kick-off, Nice relied on their airtight defense embodied by their experienced captain Dante. Despite some scares at the start of the match, notably on a clear opportunity from Magri (32nd), they were able to hold on to the betting score until half-time. The second period saw the team take the advantage on one of its rare offensives thanks to Moffi (54th).

Although limited in their movements against the Toulouse block, Dante’s teammates were able to keep control of the match and their short lead in the score. In the final minutes, Espoirs international striker Khéphren Thuram also stood out by saving his side on his line (80th).
