Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr have managed to land a number of world-renowned players, including the Portuguese star, as free agents. After applying this method to attract many European stars, it seems that the Saudi club plans to do the same in South America, specifically in Brazil.

According to Globo Esporte, CR7’s team are keeping an eye on the situation of Robert Arboleda at São Paulo. The defender’s contract expires in December, and even though there have been talks between his representatives and the club to agree on an extension, there hasn’t been much progress yet.

Is Arboleda heading for an exit?

If Arboleda fails to reach an agreement with São Paulo, Al-Nassr are reportedly going to step in to try and land him as a free agent. Their proposal would be a three-year contract, which can be extremely attractive for the Ecuadorian at this stage of his career.

Arboleda, 32, will turn 33 in October. If he doesn’t sign an extension before July, he can start negotiating a pre-contract agreement with any other club. The Ecuadorian international, who arrived at Morumbi in 2017, has so far played a total of 252 matches for São Paulo, becoming the fourth foreign player with the most appearances in club history.
