Corinthians claimed their second Brazilian Championship on Sunday night following a 4-2 victory over Avaí Kindermann at the Neo Quimica Arena. The first leg ended in a goalless stalemate.

Since taking over the Corinthians job in 2016, Arthur Elias has established himself as one of the top names of women’s football in the country. For this fixture, a brace from Zanotti and goals from Gabi and Vic Albuquerque saw Timão rule the day. Lelê and Zoio scored for Avaí but they proved to be

Arthur Elias maintains his charge to remain the most successful in the country.

It is his second league title with Corinthians and his third in his managerial career. In 2013, he also won it before his wins with Corinthians in 2018 and now again.

This is now the fourth successive Brasileirão final that Arthur Elias has overseen since his arrival at the club. Alongside his Brasileirão titles, Corinthians have also won the Libertadores twice in 2017 and 2019 under his leadership as well. Not to forget that they also have the Copa do Brasil and Paulista title also in his four year span at the club.

On their road to the final, Corinthians were impressive and bagged 58 goals in total with 14 victories to go with. During the knockout stages, they won both legs against Grêmio and also beat Palmeiras after they initially played out to a draw in the first leg.

In the course of the championship, Corinthians only lost one fixture and that loss came at the hands of São Paulo in the first game of the competition. No doubt, they are well-deserved winners for the title.
