Corinthians is close to announcing the signing of Spanish center-forward Héctor Hernández, 28 years old. The information was released on the night of Wednesday (14) by the website GE.com.

The player is currently without a club and was offered to the São Paulo team. Héctor Hernández’s name was approved by Ramón Díaz’s coaching staff and the Corinthians Football Intelligence Center (Cifut).

Career and stats

Timão made an offer to the player and is waiting to finalize the bureaucratic procedures to officially announce the Spanish athlete.

Héctor Hernández began his football career at Atlético de Madrid. He played for several teams in Spain, such as Elche, Albacete, Málaga, and Rayo Majadahonda.

In Portugal

In 2022, the center-forward transferred to Chaves in Portugal. The Spaniard even played alongside goalkeeper Hugo Souza in the Portuguese team. In his last season with Chaves, Héctor Hernández recorded 34 matches, scoring 14 goals.

In the market

Recently, Timão attempted to sign strikers Alex Arce and Gonzalo Plata, but the negotiations did not have a positive outcome. The name of Guido Carrillo from Estudiantes-ARG also emerged as an option to strengthen the Corinthians attack for the remainder of the season.

In this transfer window, Corinthians has already secured the signings of goalkeeper Hugo Souza, defender André Ramalho, midfielders Alex Santana and Charles, and striker Talles Magno. The club also has an agreement with Venezuelan midfielder José Martínez.
