Timão is five-time champion of the Women’s Brasileirão. This Sunday (10), Corinthians beat Ferroviária 2-1 at the Neo Química Arena, in São Paulo, and won the team’s fourth consecutive title, the fifth in the competition. The goals of the game were scored by Jennifer and Tamires, for Timão, while Mylena Carioca scored for Ferrinha.
The Corinthians Arena registered an attendance of 42,556 people, which represents a record among club games in South America. The fans gave the champions a standing ovation and gave coach Arthur Elias, recently chosen by the CBF to lead the Women’s National Team.
This was the second time that the teams faced each other in a Brazilian championship. In 2019, the retrospect was different. On that occasion, the Araraquara team defeated Corinthians and won their second title.

The game
The game started worthy of a grand final, with intensity. Ferrinha was the first to open the scoring. In the 9th minute, Mylena Carioca took advantage of Barrinha’s cross and found goalkeeper Lelê’s net. Despite the goal, the Brabas did not let up.
The equalizer came after a corner kick, in the 41st minute. Connected to the move, Jheniffer managed to deflect a header inside the area to equalize the score.
In the final moments of the first stage, Corinthians pressed, but Luciana made great saves, stopping the black and white attack.
The second half
With more imposition and volume of play, Corinthians came back from the break ready to turn the score around quickly. And that happened in the 12th minute, when Tamires took advantage of Millene’s cross to finish.
The 2-1 advantage did not accommodate Corinthians. The team maintained its momentum, despite the pride and courage of the Ferroviária players, and continued in search of the third goal.
However, they bumped into goalkeeper Luciana, who made another series of difficult saves in the second half.
Ferrinha tried to react at all costs and even hit the Corinthians crossbar, with a ball headed by Patrícia Sochor. But Timão‘s victory was already confirmed. With lots of fan celebration at the Neo Química Arena, bringing together children and people of all ages who couldn’t control their emotions and sang the club’s anthem without holding back their tears.
