The Corinthians are back in the final of the São Paulo Junior Football Cup. Timão defeated Novorizontino in the semifinal, 3-0, and qualified for the final. One of Corinthians’ highlights, defender Tchoca, who has been a starter in all the games so far, talked about how it feels to play in the grand final of Brazil’s biggest youth tournament.
“From the beginning, we knew our potential to reach this final, we believed in it and triumphed. But we won’t lose focus, we’ll keep our feet on the ground and aim for this title to crown our competition,” Tchoca concluded.

Corinthians is the most successful team in the history of the São Paulo Cup. The black and white team has lifted the trophy 10 times. However, they haven’t won the title since 2017 when they defeated Batatais 2-1 in the final. Now, playing at home in front of their fans, Timão has the chance to end this seven-year drought.
“We’ll be at Neo Química, our home. There, we know the strength of our fans who will support us for the full 90 minutes. We are the biggest champions of Copinha, a title that has been elusive for a while, and we know its value. Against Cruzeiro, in front of our supporters, we want to honor Corinthians’ tradition,” Tchoca concluded.
