Corinthians are four-time champions of the Women’s Libertadores! On Saturday night (21), Brabas played a gala match in the São Paulo derby against Palmeiras, beating Palestrinas 1-0. The winning goal was scored by Millene.
In addition to Timão’s victory, and Alviverde’s runner-up, Internacional also entered the field. In a truncated duel, the Gurias Coloradas ended up being beaten 3-2 in the match against Atlético Nacional, guaranteeing fourth place in the competition.

The game
The duel started intensely, worthy of a great classic in the final. At 13 minutes, Corinthians had the first opportunity to open the score. Camilinha held Gabi Portilho inside the area, the referee awarded the penalty. Vic Albuquerque hit goalkeeper Amanda’s right corner, but the ball hit the post. At 30, Gabi Portilho threw it to Millene, who received it at the edge of the penalty area and shot straight into the goal: Corinthians 1-0.
In the second stage, the match became more balanced, with Palmeiras creating more opportunities. At 23, Tarciane fouled Bia Zaneratto, resulting in his second yellow card and, consequently, expulsion. Even with one down, Brabas do Timão managed to manage the result until the final whistle.
Conquering America for the fourth time
Brabas have already lifted the cup on three other occasions: 2017, 2019 and 2021, beating Colo-Colo (CHI), Ferroviária and Santa Fé (COL). In all these achievements, Arthur Elias was at the head of the team. He now says goodbye to the club to take command of the Brazilian Women’s Team.

In the competition, Corinthians team left great opponents behind. Brabas started the day with a 1-0 victory over Colo Colo. Afterwards, they thrashed Always Ready 6-0. Sportivo Limpeño were Brabas‘ third opponents, who triumphed 5-0. In the semis, they repeated the final of the Women’s Brasileirão 2022, beating Internacional 4-3 on penalties.
Top goalscorer
Even without securing a place on the podium, the competition’s top scorer went to Priscila, from Internacional. In seven games, the striker found the net eight times, becoming this edition’s top scorer. In second place in artillery were Bia Zaneratto, from Palmeiras, and Millene, from Corinthians, both with six goals scored.
